Ron thinks that their destiny is already made, written down in future history books before it has happened.

Draco will grow up and he will be the enemy's, his light features and his small body carrying evil into the world.

And he himself will stay the sidekick forever, always faithful, characterized by his sacrifices and not his courage.

But now their destinies don't matter. Draco's voice echos through the hallways, spiteful remarks chasing the future away. Pulling Ron closer to him, his body hot with anger and hunger, the feelings feeding from each other.

And Draco welcomes him, a snarl on his face, his eyes shining with the same mess of hate and want and everything in between.

They obey the call in dark rooms because they can hear it. Ron thinks that later their destiny will drown this sound.
