When they come back after the summer Kim has almost forgotten how Daniel´s lips used to feel against hers and Lindsay has learned that Kim´s hands fit perfectly into hers and around her breasts.

They have learned each other´s bodies and sex is like reciting a poem, beloved lines under their lips, tongue and fingers. They know each other´s voices now, singing and fighting and laughing and crying, and everything makes sense.

Lindsay calls it love in her head and she whispers it to Kim at night, curled around her in the back of the van, and she understands why Kim doesn´t reply. It used to hurt in the beginning, but now that she understands Kim´s smile she doesn´t need the words anymore.

They come back after the summer and Lindsay´s parents welcome her home. They don´t know that she had been home all summer long.
