At first Marcus stole his body and before he had to leave it he cursed it with desire.

And now it rages through his body, carried by something that's not quite blood but that makes him feel like he's bleeding inside.

Warmth where there should be the cold feeling of death, warmth riding through dead cells, a firework of impossibilities.

And he tries to keep it from spreading through him, because it's not what he's supposed to want. Humanity's saviour shouldn't want to fuck a devil's bride.

Later he'll paint her in red and black, hard and angry strokes of colour on the paper, forming her delicate features and her wicked smile. He'll give her to eternity, the colours fading through time but the edges of her smile staying forever.
